Gaming News Roundup – Mar 26: Atari VCS Console, Paragon Assets Released, FighterZ DLC

PUBG Mobile’s US Release

Finally after initially being released in China, PUBG mobile has finally been released for Canada and the United States. It’s available for iOS and Android and it seems to be a pretty faithful port. To ease you into playing it with mobile controls, there’s apparently a bot system that adds bots into your games when you first start, which some people are pretty upset about, but I think it’s a fine idea. Give it a shot if this is something that interests you!

Epic Releases Paragon Assets

With the unfortunate shutting down of Epic’s MOBA effort Paragon comes a great gift to game developers everywhere who may have loved certain character designs or certain environmental assets. Epic Games has decided to releases all of Paragon‘s assets for free for anyone to use in their projects. It’s $12 million worth of Unreal Engine 4 assets so this is unexpected and awesome. You can check out their official blog post here.

The Atari VCS

The Ataribox has now been dubbed the Atari VCS. Along with the new name comes a look at the console’s classic joystick and modern controller. This new info is cool and all, but I still want to know what the console can do since it’ll be available for pre-order next month. Hopefully Atari does a good job unveiling it at GDC this year and that it clears up all of our questions.

Dragon Ball FighterZ First DLC Pack

Dragon Ball FighterZ will be getting its first official DLC in just a couple days and as reported earlier this year, it’ll be the legendary super saiyan Broly and Goku’s father Bardock. Their release date will be March 28th and you can see the trailer for Bardock here and for Broly, here. Bardock looks pretty standard and quick, while Broly looks to be a huge new grappler to body the rest of the roster with. Of course, they look incredible in action with Arcsys’s art style.

That’s the news for this week! Excited to play as Bardock or Broly? Have you won in mobile PUBG yet? Let us know below! In case you missed last week’s roundup, you can click here to get caught up. While you’re here, why not check out Dominic Watkins’s review of Blasters of the Universe? It’s pretty detailed and something you may be interested in if you’re into VR. As always, be sure to come back next week for another gaming news roundup.
