It seems like most of the major movie studios held back on trailers until after the Super Bowl, with Deadpool himself choosing to live tweet the event instead. 20th Century Fox just unveiled another trailer for Deadpool 2, this time introducing Cable, just ahead of the May 18th release date. Josh Brolin opens the trailer, describing a painfully cliché depiction of a post-apocalyptic future, complete with the gruff, gritty, and guttural voice to go along with it. The scene is interrupted by Deadpool who promptly begins playing with himself, in action figure form.
After making fun of itself as well as Henry Cavill’s moustache, action picks up with Cable on a destructive tear in the process of liberating some form of mutant internment camp. The balance between comedy and action appear to be the winning combination once more as the perpetually grim time traveler appears to be the perfect straight man to counter Wade’s insanity. The duo won’t be solo as we get looks at the remaining cast, including Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Zazie Beetz as Domino, and the return of Dopinder. Also, is that Terry Crews? In X-Force? Sign me up.
Deadpool 2 releases this Summer and stars Ryan Reynolds (Green Lantern, Blade: Trinity), Josh Brolin (No Country For Old Men, Avengers: Infinity War), Zazie Beetz (Atlanta, Geostorm), Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Everybody Hates Chris), Morena Baccarin (Firefly, Gotham) Brianna Hildebrand (The Exorcist, Tragedy Girls) Karan Soni (Office Christmas Party, The Goldbergs), Leslie Uggams (Nurse Jackie, Empire) and T.J. Miller (Silicon Valley, Cloverfield)
